America is influenced by Greek Architecture by their columns,arches,temples. The Greek Revival dominated American architecture during the period 1818-1850. It was the first truly national style in the United States, found in all regions of the country. For examples are the Parthenon and, the Lincoln Memorial.
The Parthenon is a temple built in Athens,Greece. The purpose for building this temple was to praise the Goddess Athena who was known to be the goddess of war and wisdom. The columns that the Parthenon has is Doric. The Parthenon was built in the year 432-448 B.C. The materials that were used to build this building was marble and, the foundation was made with limestone.
The Lincoln memorial is found in Washington,D.C. Was built in the 1914-1917. The purpose for it being made was to remember the sixteenth president Abraham Lincoln in his honor for him because of how he helped with the slaves. The Lincoln memorial is made by limestone and marble as well as the Parthenon. The Lincoln Memorial also has the Doric columns.

In conclusion of my article of Ancient Greek Architecture i would like to voice my own opinion on how America based its Architecture on the Greeks. I believed that the Greeks architecture was a very unique and delicate and a show of power. Therefore when the Americans saw this they wanted to use such Architecture on their buildings especially the ones that are important such as the Lincoln Memorial and,The white house.
